If you are a tile professional, you know the problems and disadvantages of
buying pre-made bullnose:
1. You are locked in to using only one (maybe two) sizes of bullnose.
2. You’re very likely to get bullnose that does not match the field tile.
3. Pre-made bullnose is EXPENSIVE.

We custom bullnose tile. We can bullnose two parallel edges, which we do quite
often for our own jobs in order to cap a wing wall or a shower curb, or to finish
off a doorway jamb and avoid having a seam down the middle. Another very nice
application for bullnosing is to edge full tiles for the perimeter of the tile work.
We can do double bullnose (two adjacent edges) for an outside corner.
Save the hassle and expense of purchased bullnose. We can usually turn the job
around in a day or two, and your job will cost less and have that special custom
look.

Bullnosing adds a custom look.

Battles & Battles Tile sells and installs a great product called TI Proboard that
allows a deck to be tiled with no wood or backer underlayment. The product is
a metal alloy designed to stabilize the surface for a tile installation.

TI Proboard is attached directly to the joists, mortar is applied to the
channelled surface, and waterproofing can be applied to form a “roof” so that the
area under the deck is totally dry. You can even build a room underneath the
deck! After mortaring and applying the optional waterproofing, the deck is ready
to tile.

This just in! We have just received samples of an Italian porcelain that is
indistinguishable from real slate – except for the maintenance real slate requires!
Looking at it, you see a heavy texture. Run your hand over it, and you will feel a
light texture that will be easy to clean. This is a very well designed, thick porcelain.
Our installers love the consistent calibration for even grout joints, and the flatness
for an installation with no lippage or “toe kicks”. Come in to our showroom to
see it and feel it in person. It is gorgeous!!! And the price is VERY reasonable.
Porcelain of this quality can be much higher-priced. We sell this one for just over
$4.00 per square foot including shipping. Have it on your project site in a few
days, ready for installation. This would look awesome anywhere, but especially
on a porch or patio.

Check out the images.

(to the U.S.) linear shower drains.

These drains have been in common use in Europe for decades.

What’s so good about them? Well, aside from looking awesome, they enable us to

use big tile in the shower floor (requiring much less grout and larger tile is

quite a bit less expensive than small mosaics) and the linear drain can be placed

not only in the center of the shower, but can be against a wall or even in the

doorway opening of the shower.
